Blog
In my work I research how well children are learning to move and how we can develop programmes to help them. I study the links between moving and how well children learn and develop. When I run training sessions with teachers and parents they are always amazed by how important movement is for young children and horrified that they did not know about the things we do on the course.
So I have decided to give up waiting for the government to pass on these very important messages and write a series of weekly blogs to share this information with as many people as possible. These blogs will be released every Monday throughout July and will be informed by the latest research from around the world. They will all be based on one key message: Children need to move more. I will explain why moving in very young children is key for long term health. Why moving more helps with learning. Why we need to teach children certain skills. Why before the age of 7 is a magic window for developing good movement. And how you as parents can help. All of the blogs will be short so they are quick and easy to read. Enjoy getting moving!!
